A massive mansion on a quiet lake in southern Ontario reportedly has a new owner -- and it鈥檚 one of the world鈥檚 biggest pop stars.

Justin Bieber has purchased a 101-acre property housing an equestrian facility and a more-than-9,000-square-foot home backing onto Puslinch Lake near Cambridge, Ont., TMZ reports.

Local residents described the area as a sleepy corner of Ontario -- a perfect place to escape the celebrity life.

鈥淭his is a great place to live,鈥 Claire Allison told CTV Kitchener. 鈥淚 mean, it鈥檚 super quiet. It would be relaxing for anybody. So I鈥檓 just happy for him.鈥

But another resident, Cyndy Haddlesey, was worried that Bieber鈥檚 presence could bring an end to the peace and quiet.

鈥淚t鈥檚 going to create a lot of action on the lake, which maybe won鈥檛 be a good thing,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a small lake, so I don鈥檛 know. Word will get out and there will be people gawking at his house all the time.鈥

At least one local Bieber fan was already excited at having a chance to spot the superstar.

鈥淚鈥檓 going to text my friends and we might get a Sea-Doo and spend a lot of time here,鈥 said Ashley MacDonald.

According to , the house was custom-built and features a theatre room, a gym, a games room and 鈥渂reathtaking sunsets鈥 over the lake.

Also housed on the property are walking trails and ponds, as well as a horse-training facility which the website describes as 鈥渓eased out and generating significant monthly income.鈥

TMZ reports that Bieber paid $5 million for the property, which is located about 65 kilometres east of his hometown of Stratford.
