JERUSALEM - The Israeli military says its aircraft struck two smuggling tunnels along the Gaza Strip border after a rocket fired by Palestinian militants hit southern Israel.

Gaza health officials say four people were slightly injured in the attack early Wednesday.

Palestinian militants use the tunnels to smuggle food, livestock, weapons and other goods into Gaza from Egypt.

The rocket attack on Tuesday caused no damage or injuries.

Rocket and mortar fire have fallen off dramatically since Israel's winter offensive against militants in the Hamas-ruled Gaza. Israeli aircraft regularly respond to attacks with assaults on the Gaza tunnels.
