Outraged coffee drinkers have prompted Starbucks to restore the eggnog and gingerbread lattes to its holiday menu.

Starbucks has backpedaled on its decision to split availability of the two holiday drinks after receiving numerous phone calls, emails and social media pleas to bring them back.

Under Starbucks鈥 original holiday plans, Canadians in Western Canada couldn鈥檛 catch a gingerbread latte anywhere , while the eggnog latte was impossible to find anywhere east of the Manitoba-Ontario border.

But Starbucks announced on Wednesday that it will restore the eggnog and gingerbread lattes to all stores by the week of Nov. 17.

鈥淲e heard you, and we鈥檙e taking action,鈥 a Starbucks representative said in a company on Wednesday.

Now, Starbucks says it鈥檚 faced with the challenge of getting its hands on enough supply to bring the drinks back throughout Canada and the United States.

鈥淏ringing these beverages back isn鈥檛 as simple as it might sound,鈥 the blog post said. 鈥淧lease be patient with us as we work through the supply and operational complexities.鈥

The Seattle-based coffee chain had previously announced it was scaling back availability of the eggnog and gingerbread lattes in most parts of the United States and Canada. Starbucks had planned to pull the gingerbread latte from its Pacific Northwest stores. It had also planned to stop selling the eggnog latte everywhere except in the same Pacific Northwest region.

Outcry over the original decision to discontinue the drinks swept through social media, where users employed the hashtag #WeWantBoth to express their frustration.
