Still fighting that holiday food hangover? When it comes to detoxifying your body, holistic nutritionist and author of 'Joyous Detox,' Joy McCarthy, recommends skipping so-called quick-fixes. Instead, she says, eating healthy every day is a better way to boost energy, eliminate sugar cravings, and cut bloating.

McCarthy, a former sugar addict, says she’s tried every detox around but found eating real, nourishing food, including protein and good fat, while “taking a break” from sugar and gluten is the best way to cleanse.

Watch McCarthy on CTV’s Your Morning on Monday, assembling a day’s menu: a pre-breakfast lemon water or green sparkle smoothie; a no-bake superfood breakfast bar and energy booster balls; a rainbow mason jar salad for lunch; and zucchini noodles with avocado cream sauce for dinner.
