Billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner and celebrity investor Mark Cuban said he鈥檚 considering running as an independent for the U.S. presidency in 2020 because people are 鈥渄isappointed鈥 with Donald Trump and 鈥渟ick鈥 of 鈥渦ltra-partisan politics.鈥

, Cuban said that Trump鈥檚 management style has been 鈥渞eady, fire, aim鈥 and 鈥渨e need to aim before we fire.鈥

He gave NAFTA negotiations as an example. 鈥淚t鈥檚 鈥榣et me go out there and say something and then let me see what happens, let鈥檚 see what the reaction is,鈥欌 Cuban said.

鈥淭hat鈥檚 not what a businessman does,鈥 he added. 鈥淲hat a businessperson does is come in prepared and understand both sides of the argument so that you can negotiate.鈥

鈥淵ou don鈥檛 get the sense with President Trump that he is fully educated on all the issues,鈥 he added.

Cuban also suggested he would pay more attention to the people in America who need the most help.

He recalled meeting Trump at CNBC when Trump was campaigning and proposing that Trump sit down with small business people and offer them advice, 鈥渒ind of like鈥 what Cuban does on the show 鈥淪hark Tank.鈥

鈥淗e said, 鈥楲et me just tell you something. Mark Cuban and Donald Trump don鈥檛 go to someone else鈥檚 house or business and sit there and have dinner or have a meeting,鈥 Cuban recalled.

鈥淔or so long, we haven鈥檛 paid attention to the people who need help everywhere, whether it鈥檚 middle of Kentucky or (the) south side of Chicago,鈥 Cuban went on. 鈥淚 think we鈥檝e ignored a lot of spots.鈥

Cuban said the conversation at CNBC occurred 鈥渨hen I still thought (Trump) had a lot of business chops.鈥

Long before that, Trump and Cuban appeared to be at odds, including in 2013 when 鈥淚 watched Mark Cuban on Jay Leno last night - what a jerk!.鈥

After Cuban backed Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, and 鈥渙f failed Benefactor fame,鈥 referring to a short-lived 2004 鈥淭he Apprentice鈥 copycat hosted by Cuban.

Last February, he 鈥渒nows鈥 Cuban 鈥渨ell,鈥 and that 鈥渉e backed me big-time but I wasn't interested in taking all of his calls.鈥

鈥淗e's not smart enough to run for president!鈥 Trump added.

Cuban, meanwhile, has been critical of Trump鈥檚 executive order limiting immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries and Trump鈥檚 suggestion for taking a knee during the U.S. national anthem in support of civil rights protests.

Cuban told Mediwake that he believes voters chose Trump not for his policies but because he鈥檚 鈥渘ot a politician.鈥

鈥淚 think they want somebody who respects both sides, who creates opportunity for everybody regardless of whether they鈥檙e Democrat, Republican, independent or whatever,鈥 Cuban said.

鈥淪o I think the opportunity is there,鈥 he added. 鈥淚t鈥檚 just a question of whether or not I want to do it.鈥
