In a post-election United States plagued by division, a simple text message mix up has resulted in unlikely Thanksgiving plans for two Arizona families.

Jamal Hinton, 17, received a text message, said to be from his grandmother, inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner with Justin and Amanda--people he doesn鈥檛 know.

鈥淚 thought it鈥檚 either a wrong number or my grandma learned how to use a phone,鈥 he told NBC News.

Hinton then asked for a photo of the sender to confirm his suspicions. Instead of his own grandmother, he received a photo of Wanda Dench.

鈥淵ou鈥檙e not my grandma. Can I still get a plate though?鈥 he replied, sending a photo of himself to prove he wasn鈥檛 her grandson.

Dench鈥檚 answer, however, was one he likely didn鈥檛 expect.

鈥淚 said sure you can. That鈥檚 what grandmas do,鈥 she said.

Hinton and Dench met for the first time on Thursday. His entire family will now be attending Thanksgiving dinner at Dench鈥檚 house on Nov. 24.

On Tuesday, the conversation was posted on Twitter by user Certo Nego with the caption; 鈥淪omebody grandma is coming in clutch this year!! Ayee!!!鈥

The post has since received nearly 400,000 likes and more than 180,000 retweets.
